To initiate your application, a non-refundable fee of $350 is required. Please note that this fee applies regardless of whether your residence is ultimately approved for certification.

Certification Process Overview

Getting certified with GARR is a structured but supportive process. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Initial Inquiry
    Begin by completing our JotForm survey to provide basic information and answer preliminary questions about your recovery residence.

  2. Follow-Up Email
    After we receive your survey, we’ll send you:

    • A detailed checklist of required documentation

    • A link to a shared Google Drive folder for submitting materials

    • An invoice for the $350 non-refundable application fee

  3. Documentation Review
    Once your fee is paid, you’ll begin uploading the necessary documents. Our team will review each item and provide guidance as needed to ensure compliance with GARR standards.

  4. On-Site Inspection
    After your documentation is complete and approved, we’ll schedule an in-person inspection of your residence to complete the certification process.

  5. Corrective Action Plan (if needed)

    If any issues are identified during the inspection, you’ll receive a corrective action plan outlining the required improvements. Our team will remain available to support you through this phase.

  6. Board Review and Approval

    Once all documentation and corrective actions are complete, a comprehensive certification report will be submitted to the GARR Board of Directors. The board will vote to approve or deny certification.

    • If approved, you’ll receive an invoice for the pro-rated annual membership fee of $75/month for the remaining months of the calendar year.

    • If not approved, you’ll be notified of the reasons and, when possible, given the opportunity to make further corrections.

  7. Final Certification

    Upon payment of the membership fee, you’ll receive your official GARR certificate along with a digital certification badge for your website and promotional use.
